We are members of both AKC parent clubs: the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club and the Japanese Chin Club of America. Both clubs take membership very seriously (neither allow membership just via paying a fee). In order to become a member, you must have a demonstrated history with the breed and be active at your local level (through regional club activities). Applications to these clubs require agreement to adhere to a meticulous Code of Ethics that spans from behavior towards other club members and care of your own dogs, to responsible and ethical breeding practices. These memberships are meant to not only allow us to connect with other like-minded hobbyist but also to differentiate us as Preservation Breeders who place the most importance on improving the breed and who are not merely producing puppies for financial profit.
